There is a fun energy here in Phillip Island. Most people are on holiday, enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful beaches. To make the most of this special time of year and our beautiful surroundings, we have included beach yoga on the timetable. Whilst maintaining the integrity of Somachi Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga, we will also fully experience the elements each evening; Monday -Saturday at Smiths Beach.
Lets meditate together as the sun sets; Monday-Wednesday 8:15pm (to approx. 9pm) . This is a FREE class. Donations welcome and will be directed to Phillip Island Nature Parks. BYO towel, cushion, blanket, warm clothing, anything needed to be comfortable for the practice.
We still have our cosy, intimate home studio 6-7 am classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Bookings only. These classes will still allow you to wake up with SomaChi or Vinyasa Yoga, which are dynamic and flowing styles of yoga building Chi, heat – internal/natural, rhythmic breath to maintain calm peaceful qualities and encourage Drishti – focus/intention.
For the men who may prefer Pilates, we have the Men’s Pilates class also held in the privacy of our Smiths Beach home studio on Thursday nights, 6-7pm. Bookings only.
With the school holidays here we also have Smiths Beach Kids Yoga and mindfulness. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings – 8-8:45am on Smiths Beach, will be dedicated to our little warriors. The practice involves learning yoga poses, feeling Chi – energy, and encouraging the children to be mindful of each other and our environment. This is done with a playful and gentle intention and suitable fro children between 4-9 years old. Booking preferred, class size will be capped to ensure children feel safe and comfortable. Parents are advised to enjoy the beach near where we practice (and not just disappear) in case assistance is required, for example the child needs the toilet!!!
Summer weekends are going to be social, fun and memorable with our new Beach Flow Yoga and Picnic, Friday From 6:30-9pm, and Beach Yoga Dance Flow, Saturday 5:30-7pm at Smiths Beach. The intention behind Creative Yoga, is integrating creativity and the spirit of yoga – awareness, compassion, wisdom and love into all aspects of our life. So lets come together to meet others; share space, breath, expressive movement, creative conscious food and most likely plenty of laughs.
In the Beach Flow Yoga and Picnic we will flow through a dynamic yoga practice then share a Vegetarian picnic. Please bring a delicious Vegan/Vegetarian plate to share – savoury or sweet 😉 Bookings essential. BYO all picnic requirements and warm clothing as it can get pretty cool in the evening on the beach.
Beach Dance Yoga Flow enables us to lean on the structure of a flow yoga practice and then allow creative expression to inspire free movement. The sounds of the waves crashing and the beats in the music provide a wonderful energising inspiration that impels our bodies to let go of some of our natural and habitual tension allowing fluid, uncensored and creative expression to emerge.
If you prefer the comfort of your own home, pace, level and full attention then contact us to book in a private class for you, or your family/group.
I look forward to seeing all of the Creative Yoga Regulars return after our little Xmas break and we welcome all the Phillip Island holiday makers to join us this Summer as we start 2019 with yoga and creativity.
Namaste and May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness,
